It’s starting to feel like Fall here in Dallas, and I’m more than excited! It’s been in the 100’s for way to long now…we deserve some cooler weather too! I’ve been celebrating this joyous occasion by drinking hot cocoa, snuggling under the thick blankets, and of course, busting out my favorite Fall items. This olive green dress is my most recent Fall purchase and I’m IN LOVE! I was having such a hard time finding an olive colored dress that looked good on my body and was modest enough for me. When I came across this beauty, I was immediately drawn to it because of the detailing, fabric and the color! If you’re in the market for the perfect olive colored dress, this one is for you! PS: Are you in the market for the PERFECT pair of fringe heels? Look no further than these cute babies! They’re also on sale for only $30 right now, so click on the link below and grab them before they’re gone!!

Lately I’ve been pretty absent from my blog, and I really really apologize for that. I’ve been going through a kind of “change of heart” experience lately which has made it so I’m focusing on other things. Basically, something new clicked inside of me. I feel like I’ve become more of an adult in a way. It all started when I was standing in my closet, looking at all of my clothing and finding nothing that I wanted to wear. I then realized that I have been accumulating so many items of clothing, so many shoes, and SO much makeup that I was starting to feel really overwhelmed by it all. I started asking myself “Why in the world do I need all this stuff?” I realized that for the past couple of years, I had been getting way to caught up in having the latest and greatest stuff, that I’ve let other more important things go to the wayside. This realization got me really thinking about how my life is now, and how I want to live it. I didn’t want to be one of those people that only cared about working hard and buying more items. And I feel like that’s what our world is now. Not as many people really care about what’s going on in our country, or helping those that need it. Or heaven forbid, being there for your children. It’s all about working long hours, and playing keeping up with the Jones’s. And I was apart of that. I was trying to keep up with everyone around me that I lost track of who I was. I wasn’t focusing on serving, making friends, or loving God. So this realization has caused me to step back a little bit and just take a breath. It’s been nice to log off of social media and just relax. I don’t know if I’m the only one that feels like social media sucks the life out of you sometimes. For me, sometimes I get way too obsessed with what people are wearing or doing and I want to spend all my money buying the same things everyone else is getting. But it stops here. This way of living is done for me, and I’m really excited about that.

As for my blog, I will still be blogging about the same topics, but it might take a little twist for the better. Instead of focusing on all the things you need to buy NOW for your wardrobe, I’m going to start talking about how to create a wardrobe that will last. And by that I mean, I only want to show off pieces that you can keep in your closet for a long time and never have them go out of style. I also want to focus more on cleaning, organizing and rotating your things so you never feel too cluttered or overwhelmed. This has helped me a ton to de-stress and feel SO much better about what I own. Instead of having 1000 things that I feel ok in, I want 10 things that make me feel amazing (hint: this green dress is one of them). So I hope you enjoy my new outlook on life and my blog. I really hope we all embrace each other and feel truly happy for each other vs. trying to one up each other all the time. Us girls need to stick together #girlpower !

What a positive and fresh outlook to have!!! It sounds like at the root of it all is the simplicity of living a life you enjoy, and loving on those around you. I can’t think of anything better than that!!!
Also, it truly made my day to come here and see myself as one of the highlights from last week, thank you so very much!
And… your shoes. They are perfect.:)

I’ve been going through the exact same thing recently and I think it’s all part of growing up and realizing what is/isn’t important. Society would have us believe that it’s the “things” that matter, but the more I live the more I know that life is about the relationships we have and the moments we share. I mean, having great clothes is nice, but not one wishes they bought a pair of Manolo Blahniks on their death bed. Great post and you look amazing.
