As most of you may know, Halloween is almost here!!!
I LOVE Halloween! It’s the one time of year that you get to go crazy with makeup and costumes!
I love seeing what everyone comes up with!
Today for our linkup I wanted to show you all my favorite go-to Halloween makeup look. This look is perfect for any costume…but I think it’s perfect for any witch, vampire, or sexy costume look. It’s a basic black, smokey eye and a sexy red lip!
I have to admit I did try to make a youtube tutorial for this look…but my blasted computer decided to delete half of my footage. So I’m just going to describe to you how to get this look (sorry!).
1st: Prime your eyes! I like to use M.A.C. paint pot in Soft Ochre. You can use any concealer that you like though. Make sure all the redness on your eyes are covered up…this will make the shadows pop more.
2nd: Define your crease. For this we are going to use a series of browns. First, buff a light brown into your crease with a blending brush, and keep building different brown shadows until you get to a dark brown. This will really blend out your crease and help the black shadow to blend without making it look like you have a black eye. And it’s ok to have it messy. It will all come together in the end.
3rd: Pack on the black eyeshadow. Take an eyeshadow brush (or a concealer brush) and pack on the black shadow from inner corner to outer corner. DO NOT go above your crease with the black…this is what the brown shadows were for. If you go above your crease you will start to look like you have a black eye (but hey…this is Halloween…so if that’s what you’re going for then have at it!). After you’ve packed on the black, take a clean blending brush and blend the black and the browns together. This will make the look seamless.
4th: Continue to pack on the black and blend until you’ve gotten your desired darkness. I prefer it a dark gray color. If you want it to be super black, before you put on your shadow, take a black kohl pencil and fill in your eyelid with it.
5th: Put on your foundation with whatever blending brush you prefer (I love the beauty blender right now!), highlight and contour. I like my highlight and contouring to be harsh for this look, but that’s how I like it. Make sure when you contour that you hit your forehead, under your chin, and down your nose to really make your facial bones pop! For highlighting, I used M.A.C. Prolongwear concealer in NC15 and I hit under my eyes, down the center of my nose, the center of my forehead, and my chin. For contouring, I used Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Bronzer and the NARS Ita brush.
6th: Fill in those brows! I like them very bold for this look, but do whatever you’d like! I used the It Cosmetics brow pencil for my brows.
7th: To finish off your eyes, add a thick cat eye, and falsies (or my favorite Younique 3D mascara!). You want your eyes to be bold! Don’t forget to also hit your lower lash line with some blended out brown eyeshadow and mascara! This will finish off the look.
8th: Blush and Luminizer! Any blush and luminizer will do! I used Makeup Geek blush in Love Affair and the Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick in Apricot. And remember, it’s ok to be more bold than usual! It’s Halloween!
9th: My favorite part…Lipstick! Pick a dark lip for this look! I am loving the deep red or deep purple lipstick right now! I used Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Divine Wine (literally the prettiest lipstick EVER!). And if you have lips that tend to bleed with lipstick…don’t forget to line your lips with a similar color!
I hope you enjoyed this look! Make sure you link up down below!
