Photography: Mom and Baby Portrait Session- Aubrey and Lucy

Photography is one of my favorite arts, and I love taking pictures of people! I was able to have a really fun photo shoot with my sister-in-law Aubrey and her cute daughter Lucy Mae. I love taking pictures of mom’s and their kids because I really get to capture a mother’s love. Lucy is a beautiful little one month old, and it was really fun to try to get her to pose for us haha. This was my first experience with baby photography, and I had the best time.

My favorite part about these pictures was the beautiful lighting. All I did to achieve this was set up a plain, white backdrop and have the bright sun shining through the windows in front of us. I also used my new 50mm f/1.2 lens to capture these precious moments, and I have to say…this lens is an amazing piece of equipment. It made everything look so soft and beautiful. It’s definitely a lens worth saving for.

In photoshop, all I had to really do to these pictures is add a curves layer (to give the pictures a little more depth) and I increased the exposure a little bit. When you have natural light to work with, you don’t have to do much editing in photoshop (which saves a TON of time haha!).

My favorite pictures are definitely the black and white ones. There is just something about black and white photography that gets me excited! When I was in high school, I was lucky enough to take photography classes and get to work in a dark room. I loved taking black and white pictures because I was able to experiment with light in a way you just don’t get with color. Black and white photographs will always be a classic, and they look amazing on a gallery wall.

I hope you all enjoy these sweet pictures! If you are in the Dallas area, I’m trying to build my photography portfolio, so I’d love to take pictures of you and anyone you’d like to be in them! And if you’re a fashion blogger especially, I’d love to shoot some of your outfits! Just leave a comment or email me!

xoxo
