This post is brought to you by Owlet Baby Care. As always, my opinions are my own.
Today I’m really excited to be introducing an amazing brand and baby product with you all! This product is a game changer for parents with little ones, and it will definitely give peace of mind to all. Owlet Baby Care, maker of the Owlet Smart Sock, is working to change the way we care for our infants and babies from the day we take them home from the hospital. The Owlet Smart Sock, the first smart baby monitor of its kind that uses hospital technology—pulse oximetry—and is designed alert parents if their baby stops breathing or heart rate drops or goes too high.
The way that this smart sock is designed to work is it measures your little one’s Oxygen levels and heart rate while they sleep, so you can sleep with peace of mind (which is an extreme need for new parents). I’m super excited to use this product when my daughter is born because when Everett was a newborn, I would wake up about every 45 minutes to check on him: I was so paranoid! It’s impossible to heal and stay sane with a new baby when you have the anxious pattern that I did, and I know that a lot of you parents do the same thing. That’s where Owlet Baby Care monitors come in!
The baby product market currently has monitors that require you to obsess over whether or not your child is OK because the monitors use only audio and video. The Owlet Smart Sock is the first of its kind among new smart baby monitors, aimed at giving parents peace of mind, and is designed to alert them only if a baby’s heart rate drops or goes too high, or if the infant stops breathing. The Owlet Baby Monitor does this with hospital technology—pulse oximetry—and makes it appropriate for the nursery setting. The information from the monitor is relayed to parents’ smartphones via a blue tooth-connected Base Station, allowing parents to check on their child from anywhere.
By slipping this simple sock onto your little one’s foot, you are attaching pulse oximetry technology right to your baby, which is what hospitals use to monitor patients. By having this sock on their foot, you are able to monitor your baby during their sleep hours and keep track of it right on your smart phone! There is also a base unit that is designed to alert you as well just in case something happens with your phone while you sleep. It’s simply a game changer for all you parents out there, and it should be at the top of your list of things to get for your newborn! PS: The sock grows with your child, and it’s supposed to continue to fit them all the way up until their first birthday!
I hope you all enjoyed this fun post about Owlet! I’m super excited to start using this on my newborn in the next couple months! Stay tuned for some more posts on how to use the Owlet plus a fun demonstration on my own newborn when she arrives!
About Owlet Baby Care
Owlet Baby Care, Inc. was founded in 2013 by a team of passionate parents who wanted to bring themselves—and other parents around the globe—peace of mind and assurance by developing a monitor that is designed to alert parents when their baby stops breathing or heart rate drops too low or goes too high. Using pulse oximetry, the same technology used in hospitals, the Owlet Smart Sock sends alerts, to the Base Station and via WiFi to a parent’s smartphone.
