Today is my first official Mother’s Day being a mom. Being a mom is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, and the moment I found out I was pregnant, I was overjoyed. I was finally given the chance. Watch and feeling Everett grow inside of me was an experience I’ll never forget, and I’ll cherish it forever. Growing a little body is hard work, but it was worth every second. The moment I first laid eyes on my son was a moment filled with pure joy. I was so happy to finally meet my little boy. He was perfect, and I was so excited to finally share my life with him.

Today as I think of the meaning of being a mother, I can’t help but think of my own mom. My mom taught me so many things, and I know I wouldn’t be who I am today without her influence. She taught me how to love, how to care, how to be patient, and how to be kind. She taught me about inner and outter beauty, and she taught me to always stand up for what I believe. I grew up watching her always giving…whether it be to our family or to strangers on the street. She taught me how to serve others and how to serve God. I can honestly say that without her influence, I wouldn’t be able to be a good mom to my children today. She was there for me in good times and bad, and she was there when I was learning how to be a mom for the first time. I love you Mom. Thank you for being there for me always.

Being a mother is the hardest job on the planet. It’s filled with sleepless nights and stressful days. It’s filled with poopy diapers, messy rooms and spit up galore. But you guys, it’s worth it. It’s worth every second. When I see my little boy smile at me, it’s worth it. When I watch Everett reach another milestone, it’s worth it. When I get baby kisses, afternoon snuggles, and laughs galore…it’s worth it. Being a mom is a wonderful gift. I am so happy I am a mom.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. You are wonderful for sacrificing your whole life for your children. Always remember what a wonderful person you are. Mothers are amazing!
